Dive Northern Quarter Manchester #Review

Dive NQ Visit: October 2016

Slap bang in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, where an eccentric, eclectic mix of styles and tastes merge, you can take the plunge and Dive into an all American style bar. Décor consisted of cool electrifying statement steel lights, simple tea light candles and subdued lighting set the scene.  The booth style seating ideal for groups of friends to catch up and have fun or in our case a casual cosy hang out for two.  There are enough plasma TVs to catch up on all that sporting action from any angle…uk football or perhaps lets trial out some American football.  Or if clubbing is your scene get on your dancing shoes and dive in after hours when the place becomes a hot nightspot!

staters-bitesOur delicious Dive day started with  Tasty Texan Beef Skewers Served with BBQ, Tabasco & honey dips.  My personal fav was the mouth-watering Mini corn Dogs Served with mustard & Dive ketchup.  Finally we enjoyed the yummy Nachos served on an impressive super stacker display with Jalapenos, guacamole, mozzarella & sour cream.

mainssidesWhether you want healthy or hearty Dive delivers!  The luscious Cobb Salad with grilled chicken, bacon dust, avocado, boiled egg, blue cheese, lettuce & tomato served with dive dressing was fresh, fabulous and was a great healthy option.  The swish delish Swine Burger made with ground pork & beef pattie served with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce & onions was heavenly.  Scrummy sides included the Skin on Fries, Sweet Potato Wedges and Onion Rings.

dessertsandcocktailsThe lip-smacking pancake stack was served with vanilla ice cream and brilliant blueberry compote.  The drinks menu was impressive with an array of offerings from Brooklyn Brown Ale, Blind Pig Bourbon & Blueberry and of course Cocktails!  My top three cocktails mixed up by the lovely Jack included the Mule ‘N’ Bramble created with absolut vodka, vanilla gomme, lime juice, cloudy apple juice, cinnamon, Jamaican ginger beer and fresh blackberries.  A must have is the Hoodoo Voodoo shaken with four roses bourbon, lime juice, Angostura Bitter, orgeat syrup, pineapple, orange juice and grenadine.  Finally, explore and go deep by trying their signature Jungle Juice, twisted up with Havana 3, pineapple, cranberry, lime, passion fruit gomme and prosecco.

Loved the Dive team! Kitchen, Bar and front of house were focused, friendly and fun.  Yet took time out to engage with customers and explain Dives awesome array of food and beverage options.  The hospitality industry can be hard but when you make it look as effortless as these guys do you are clearly doing something right. I would be happy to Dive in again anytime!
