Bill’s Restaurant Manchester #Review

Bill’s Restaurant Manchester Review: March 2017

Bill Collison both driven and inspired by his Dads love for fresh home grown produce, started out in a small space that his dad showed him, which was no bigger than a shed, just off the high street in Lewes in East Sussex. Since he has never looked back, but it has not all been plain sailing. Rapid success and growth meant the need to acquire new premises, but tragedy struck in 2000 with the heavy floods wiping out Bill’s shop. Starting from scratch, Bill remained positive and this time added a café. Now, Bills business is booming and the core focus is not all about ringing tills, but is driven by a love for fresh produce and a customer focused service.

There is a cosy, cute vintage charm about Bill’s, with it’s cosy sofas, vintage wares and personalised Bill’s theming. Offering a relaxed home away from home atmosphere where staff organically and naturally provide attentive and excellent service. Instantly, loved our server Jess, she was relaxed, informative, friendly and clearly a first-class professional. Feeling nibbley, I opted for the Veggie Plate a platter of Super tasty chickpea and parsley falafels, yummy crispy crumbed halloumi sticks, baked tomato hummus, tzatziki, red pepper tapenade, mixed olives, pickled red cabbage and the amazing warm piadina bread. With an add on of sweet potato fries this lip-smacking dish really hit the spot – comfort food on a plate. My plus one opted for the brilliant Bill’s Hamburger Toasted bun, lettuce, tomato, red onion, horseradish mayo and skin on fries. Quality ingredients, simple presentation and all washed down with a Bill’s beer…perfection!

The wonderful wow dessert of warm mini cinnamon doughnuts served with fabulous fresh strawberries and warm chocolate sauce was a mouth-watering triumph. Closely followed by the warm chocolate brownie served with lashings of Warm chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and topped off with a cute chocolate flake. The crafted cocktails were clever concoctions, perfectly balanced and as always served the Bill’s way – with a smile. Hello…Hedge Row Fizz cocktail, with Prosecco and elderflower finished with a frozen blackberry and the brilliant Bramble Mojito mixed up with white rum, blackberry puree, mint, vanilla and lime juice.

Bill’s Manchester restaurant, in the heart of the city, is a classic mix of Bill’s signature fresh foodie classics, offering fabulous cocktails with relaxed friendly attentive service…anyone fancy popping around to Bills House, as here you will definitely feel at home.

Thank you for reading 😊

  1. Those desserts caught my attention…couldn’t decide which I preferred more…so I thought both would do!! I love the idea of the cinnamon and strawberries…very unique. Sounds like my kind of place, easy, relaxed, homey….just thought I’d let you know I think you have a typo in one of your sentences but I rather like it… “you will defiantly feel at home” I think I prefer defiantly over definitely!! Another mouth-watering post as usual!! Happy Sunday….xo 🙂
