Bubble Club Review: March 2017

Jon Hulme and John Burke, the founders of the amazing revolutionary Bubble Club, that launched in 2016, became firm friends while studying at business school in Madrid. The business gurus behind the already successful craft gin club, continue to see many successes and highlights in their business ventures such as opening offices up in Soho London and securing investment from drinks enthusiast and entrepreneur Sarah Willingham on the BBC’s Dragons Den show – impressive stuff!

Two key dates in March, International Women’s day and Mother’s Day, provided the inspiration behind this month’s bubble box theme – ‘Women of the World’ – Women in Wine. Landing on my doorstep just in time for the weekend, I was ready to get into my own little bubble and sample some of the fab fizzy stuff. This box has the wow factor and the product quality is fabulous. The magazine is a high-quality publication that educates you about the bubble box contents and provides useful food & drink recipes. ‘The Dames of Drink’ article that featured 5 fizzy tipples inspired by famous women such as Florence Nightingale and Valentina Tereshkova – the first women to go into space, was a particularly fav feature of mine.

WilliamsThe bubbles included the amazing Vitteaut-Alberti, Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Noirs made with 100% Pinot Noir red grapes. Brought to us from the vineyards of Vitteaut-Alberti, situated in Burgundy, a region known for producing some of the country’s best wines. A lovely fresh peachy wine mixed with rich plum, yummy.  The Mar de Frades, Brut nature is the first wine of its kind, made from 100% Albariño grape from northern Portugal and western Spain. The wine had a toasted nutty taste, served chilled makes for a lovely enjoyable drink.

The treats included the scrumptious Strawberry & Rhubarb Posh Pop from the Breckland Orchard, Sweet & Salt Popcorn from the Popcorn Kitchen and the delicious 70% Dark Chocolate Women’s Bar from Divine. Devine’s chocolate bar supports and helps to empower the women cocoa farmers which is fabulous. Inside the bar, each wrapper is personalised with a picture of a female cocoa farmer, where they are provided with a voice to share their opinions and views on female empowerment.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with the bubble box.  The Mar de Frades wine was shared and enjoyed by my guests at my ‘Mel’s masquerade party’.  Feeling creative, with the rest of the contents, I used the Chocolate and popcorn to create some yummy chocolate and popcorn wafer thins.  Along side these, I served up a ‘Mel’s fizzy refreshing sipper’ cocktail, made by pouring the strawberry & rhubarb posh pop over a small amount of crushed ice, finished of with a good splash of Vitteaut Alberti fizz. Hopefully, I have inspired you to get your creative bubble on! Offering a no pressure flexible subscription service why not burst out of your bubble and join the club.

Thank you for reading 😊

  1. I like how they used International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day as inspiration for this month’s box and also included an article detailing the women behind the inspiration. I don’t drink but this subscription service sounds like a great one for those who do enjoy great bubbly.
