Harry Ramsden Manchester Arndale Review: May 2017

1928 saw the opening of Harry Ramsden’s very first takeaway in a hut in Guiseley, Yorkshire. Starting out small, but over the years has seen huge growth around the country. Harry’s promise to only use British potatoes, their oils are assured and they use sustainable packaging – Winner!  Oh I do like to be beside the seaside, I do like to be besides the sea…well Harry Ramsden has brought their world famous Fish & Chips seaside extravaganza to the Manchester Arndale located in the city centre.

Their Mouth-watering menu had an array of traditional foodie delights with some added modern additions. We opted for their world-famous haddock cooked in Harry’s secret recipe batter with double cooked chips and mushy peas. The brilliant battered halloumi burger served with tasty tomato chutney was delightful. Sides included yummy pickled gherkins, crispy onion rings with fabulous firecracker sauce and of course all this was washed down with some lovely Yorkshire tea.

Tasty traditional food, delivered with passion, from experienced and knowledgeable staff. Manager Andrew, Paul, Rachel and Ricky on the fryer were all excellent and this specific site team donate any tips collected to Children in Need – impressive stuff!

So grab a deck chair, some of Harry’s yummy foodie delights, sit back, relax and enjoy.

Thank you for reading 🙂

  1. Is it bad that I’ve never heard of Harry Ramsden? But I have to say, the food sounds really good for a takeaway. If there’s one near Peterborough, I might have to give them a go!

  2. There is actually a Harry Ramsden fish and chips in my town as well, right next to the beach. I have passed by many times but never stopped. Maybe I should next time I go to the beach.
