The English Lounge Manchester Review

The English Lounge Manchester Review: June 2017

Smack bang in the heart of Manchester’s bustling Northern Quarter, the English Lounge, offers a selection of wines, spirits, cocktails, cask ales, gin’s and foodie delights, clearly this is a pub that pulls everything excellent together.  We rocked up to an inviting entrance with some rather cute hanging baskets, nice lantern light features and the English Lounge branded swinging sign. Once upstairs a warm welcome awaited us from the lovely Phil, who was fab, personable, professional and looked after us fantastically the whole evening. Also, another lovely server Emma did a cracking job at making sure we were having a fab time.

From the cocktail creations sampled my top three favs included the classic Pimm’s and Lemonade, a beautiful summer concoction served with plenty of fruit and topped off with fresh mint. The perfect lip-smackingly tasty Peach and Raspberry Bellini combines flavours of peach, raspberry all topped up with fab fizzy prosecco. Finally the lovely Ketel One Vodka and Fever – Tree Elderflower tonic was a floral refreshing zingy mix of summer.

The food menu displayed on a simple clip board with a few other table basics looked eye catching and made us excited to investigate further, as to what foodie delights were on offer. The sensational starters included the baked camembert served with sliced gherkins and croûtons for delicious dipping. Also, the tasty topped tortilla chips, which are homemade and finished off with a good handful of cheddar, lashings of spicy salsa, a good dollop of guacamole and sour cream.

While waiting for our mains, we sat back and absorbed the surroundings, the beautiful décor has an old school feel with a contemporary twist. The delightful fireplace really was a standout piece. Mouth-watering mains included the crispy halloumi and roasted vegetable salad. Also, a 8oz char-grilled sirloin steak, served up with beer-battered onion rings, chunky chips and roasted cherry tomatoes with the perfect addition of the peppercorn sauce.

Fancy fab food and drinks, well pop along to the English Lounge in Manchester, as they offer something for everyone. Thank you to the lovely Phil and Emma, my fab followers and all the lovely bloggers out there 😊
