Teppanyaki Chinatown Manchester Review: June 2017
Situated in the heart of Chinatown Manchester is the original Teppanyaki in the North West since 1987. At the entrance, the restaurant proudly displays their ethos on a cute wooden chalkboard, which is all about a simple, none gimmicky approach, as the authentic food and Teppanyaki experience speaks for its self.
Warmly welcomed by Edward, who settled us into the cosy seating area, while we waited for a lovely glass of fine wine and a traditional Japanese beer. There definitely was a buzz about the place, anticipation and excitement built, as we were shown to our seats at the Teppanyaki table.
Our skilful chef William had over 20 years experience of cooking Japanese cuisine and clearly knew a thing or two about creating great culinary delights. Fun, food and flames were the order of the day and as you can see William turned up the heat a notch and showed us his masterful skills by creating some fresh authentic dishes.
Importantly, the eggs used are free range and their chicken comes fresh from Cumbria – impressive and all plus points. The vegetarian Beji menu, which consisted of a mouth-watering Veg tempura & veg gyoza starter and a main of delicious tender tofu steak & aubergine complimented with rice & mixed vegetables. The yummy Kyoto menu included a selection of the chef’s hors d’oeuvre for starter and a delicious chicken teriyaki main served up with rice and mixed vegetables. Ice cream and a traditional cup of sake finished our fabulous Teppanyaki experience.
Throughout our servers Ben and Dorin were friendly, polite, professional and personable, looking after all our needs. Exquisite food, an Exciting atmosphere and excellent service, this place really is worth a visit.
Thank you to Edward and thank you for reading 🙂
