Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool #Review

Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool Review: July 2017

The exciting entrance sets a precedent for the unique dining experience, that you are about to enjoy, displaying a piece of grand and impressive Tansu; traditional Japanese antique furniture, in the form of a fully functional corridor fire pump direct from the district of Kyoto circa 1890 – Wow!  Looking for a socially interactive dining scene, where you can immerse yourself in the world of Japanese culture and exciting entertainment, well lovely Liverpool’s Sapporo Teppanyaki is the hotspot for you. Seated with other anonymous diners, the chef prepared our Teppanyaki station, as we all engaged and eagerly waited for the Japanese action.

While watching the preparation, the sensational starters were served up including their awesome Avocado Maki Sushi Signature roll and the divine Vegetable Gyoza Dumplings. Chef Aaron was amazing, a delightful guy with bags of personality, energy and plenty of humour to boot. One skilful foodie trick included Aaron egg juggling – yes you have read right, egg juggling! I am lucky not to drop an egg when just taking several out of the pack. Aaron demonstrated both his love for, Japanese cuisine and his customers, by creating us all a love heart out of the egg, which raised some smiles and spreading the love is all good with me!

Turn up the heat, as things were about to get scorching hot with the cooking of the mains that included the tasty Tofu Steak with noodles and the Duck Breast in a BBQ Sauce, all served with Egg fried rice, sautéed potatoes and a good helping of theatrical presentation and skill. Aaron again pulled the rice ball out of the bag and did an upside-down trick, that will blow your mind. Get ready to catch your very own slice of the action, as the sautéed potatoes will be heading your way. I managed mine on the first attempt and was chuffed to say the least. The tomato sauce gag is hilarious, but you will have to pop along and see for yourself.

What better way to end your dining than with cocktails and desserts. Time to turn down the heat and cool things down with the Cornetti dessert, a mix of cute crispy sugar mini cones with various chef’s choices of ice cream and sorbet. The mouthwatering Matcha chocolate cake made with green tea, chocolate almond, sponge cake and served with vanilla ice cream was gorgeous. All washed down with some super cute cocktails, my two favs included the lip-smackingly lush Japanese Mimosa and the crisp refreshing Tokyo ice tea.

Throughout, server Gabrian and his team catered for all our needs. No matter which menu you ordered off the service was organised and coordinated. Every element worked in sync, to create an efficient and effective operation that provides guests with streamline signature Japanese Teppanyaki dining – Sapporo style. Head on down, enjoy some giggles, grab a slice of the action and fill up on the fun.

Thank you for reading 😊

  1. I love restaurants that you can watch the chef cooking your food right in front of your eyes. The meals look really tasty, and the chef sounds like fun

  2. This looks amazing and now I am feeling really hungry. I haven’t been to a teppanyaki restaurant before as there aren’t many close to me but if I do happen to find one I am definitely venturing in x
