Along with her husband Fabrizio, company founder Deborah, an Italian by birth but lived in Australia for many years and then moved to London, wanted to bring inspiring Italian food into the heart of all our homes and even better still a delivery service direct to your door! Their love for their customers, producers and products provides a high spec genuine unique experience with a range of innovative products.
The family’s much loved 45-year-old red Volkswagen Beetle along with her passion for Travel, Food & Italy, inspired Deborah and provided her with the motivation to set up The Red Beetle Travelling Food Company. Deborah’s brilliant business idea has afforded her the freedom and flexibility to simply jump in the vintage Volkswagen Beetle and takes frequent road trips around Italy to seek out, discover and source locally grown, genuinely fabulous foodie finds.
The products selected are of the highest quality and are put through their paces with stringent quality control and hygiene control measures. Suppliers are a mix of the traditional and contemporary some going back five generations and others being newcomers to the market.
The exceptional Extra virgin olive oil in an exquisite Frantoio Muraglia rainbow ceramic bottle, made with 100% cold pressed Coratina Olives, featured on the weekly stylist magazine is one of the finest in the world and is used by many Michelin Star Chefs. Deborah has herself visited their fields, trees and mill and dedicated this as a Gold Beetle Certified™ product. The ceramic bottle hand made by a small family business in the Apulia region of Italy and makes a lovely gifting item. Also, the ceramic bottle will make for the most amazing vase once the oil has been consumed.
The cool crazy wheels Italian pasta produced by family business Pastificio Cavalieri, that sources their raw materials grown in the hills of Basilicata and Apulia, has won countless awards and served al dente with roasted tomatoes, pesto, basil and lashings of olive oil was a sheer delight.
Make your pasta a league above the rest by using the organic Pesto Alla Genovese a delightfully delicious dairy free, gluten free and all vegan pesto that really packs a pleasant palatal punch, as the ingredients are not pasteurised so retain all their fabulous flavours.
