Hotel Football & Café Football Old Trafford Manchester #Review

Hotel Football & Café Football Old Trafford Manchester Review: February 2018

Manchester United’s super star players, full back Gary Neville and retired winger Ryan Giggs, continue their play of the pitch and have teamed together to launch the football themed GG hospitality brand which encompasses the Hotel & Café Football brands.

Located smack bang opposite Old Trafford Stadium, the football themed hotel and café are looking to score winning goals and become a champion place for guests to play and stay.

I loved the ladies on reception enthusiastic, energetic and excited to pass on their passion for the place. Our game began heading on up all the way up to the dizzy heights of the eighth floor to executive room 801.  Back of the net…Gooooooooal – what a winning view – Breath-taking brilliance!

The well-appointed executive room was roomy, with a funky brightly coloured seating hub, with flat screen television, ideal to kick back, chill and catch up on some sports action.  The welcome card and cute chocolate footballs are a nice touch.

Style over substance…Definitely not, the football theme is subtle, but not tacky, it could have gone so wrong, but they have got this so right from the football themed wall print, the tastefully branded bedding and the wonderful wall paper which really made the room pop.

The brilliant bathroom has that players changing room feel with the large tiled shower area.  The sunken bath, simple but a real relaxer.  Toiletries branded with team players shirt numbers was in keeping with the football vibe.

I thought things could not have got any sweeter, but they did!  The well-stocked tea tray led me to find the mini bar packed with classic old school tuck shop treats such as space raiders, clubs, fizz Wiz, Vimto and much more, all of which was complementary.

The gym small, but perfectly formed, which had freshly stocked towels, bottled water and all the equipment you need to bring your A game.

We kicked our play off with a mocktail in the bar at Café football located on the ground floor which was vibrant, fun and kitted out in all things football such as cool caricature player prints, and subtle player printed detailing on the seating backdrops which included players across all teams not just Manchester United.  Showing the place is about a love and appreciation for Football clubs universally.

Flat screen televisions are dotted all over the place, so there is no way you will miss that winning goal.  Something else you won’t miss in the backdrop is the beaming red lights glowing from the Old Trafford Manchester United signage.

Food is comfort and warming, the fab fish and chips is a generous portion with a side serving of mushy peas.  Side’s include fries, salads and coleslaw.

The devil is definitely in the detail and when it comes to hitting my sweet spot these guys scored a hat trick with delicious desserts, sparkling mocktails and a Sweetie shop packed with gorgeous goodies.  Marcus, Justine, Aaron and all the team did an amazing job – thanks for looking after us!

The opportunity to go to all new heights and have a kick about on their roof top pitch was legendary.  Followed by midnight munchies enjoyed in the comfort of our room and dreaming of victory.

A moody Manchester morning, with lashings of rain, but smiles were plentiful waking up to this knock out view…Manchester United’s Old Trafford Football stadium in all its pride and glory.

Just as equally as awesome was the view of Salford and Manchester’s canal network.

Room service breakfast, delivered on time, included a full English, a full vegetarian, a fab fruit platter, cereal, fresh orange juice and some toast.  Play was over, the final whistle blown, signalled our time to leave this dream team to carry on doing their thing.

Don’t pass on your chance to stay and play right in the heart of the action. Be part of the legendary Manchester United club – come on you reds!!

Thank you for reading 😊
