Magical Mystery Tour and The Cavern Club Liverpool: July 2018
“Help I need somebody, Help not just anybody, Help”. Help yourself and get a spring in your step, by heading on down to Albert Dock Liverpool, and feel that marvellous magical musical melody.
Book yourself onto the Magical mystery Tour and get on board your very own “yellow submarine” for the Ultimate Beatles Fan experience. “She’s got a ticket to ride”…well I definitely did and could not wait.
Packed with larger than life Liverpool characters including our host Jay Johnson and driver Ross, I knew to be prepared for an action packed whistle stop Beatles tour with a lorra lorra laughs.
The Tour has many highlights including the childhood home of Ringo Starr, St Peters Church where John and Paul first met, John Lennon’s childhood home and Former schools and colleges of John, Paul, George and Ringo including the Art College and the Liverpool Institute (now LIPA)
Excitingly, there are four stops, where you can get off the bus, at key Beatles locations and snap away to your hearts content. Walk with the boys (Fab Four Statue located at the docks) to the first of these stops which was Penny Lane.
For the Beatles boys and Liverpool community, the barbers shop, the bus terminus at the top of penny lane was a social hub and a meeting place. Hence, the Penny Lane Song was about the bus terminus in penny lane rather than the actual street.
George Harrison’s birthplace; 12 Arnold grove, where the home had a tin bath, coal fire and outside toilet. Due to their fame, the boys often used a pseudonym when checking into a hotel. It was funny to learn that George often used the name “Arnold grove”!
Next, “I’m going to Strawberry Fields, Nothing is real, And nothing to get hung about, Strawberry Fields forever”
For the final pitstop, Paul McCartney’s childhood home, and we were one of the lucky tours to be in town at the same time, as the legend himself.
The Magical Mystery tour was relaxed, fun, friendly and delivered with genuine interest and true passion. The Magical Mystery Tour ticket also includes Cavern Club Admission for that day or evening.
“Help me if you can, I’m feeling down…” a sure thing to perk up anyone’s mood is Location Matthew Street, the beating hub of Liverpool’s music scene, with the Cavern Club being at the very heart of it.
Cavern Club Front stage has a variety of truly talented live musical performances with musical “words of wisdom” so “Let it be, Let it be, let it be”
Also, there is masses of Liverpool Legends memorabilia to keep any Beatles fans and lovers of Liverpool entertained.
