The Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa, located on the edge of the beautiful West Pennine moors, whose origins date back to farm buildings from the 17^th century, is now a four-star hotel, Spa & experience.

In 1964 owner Carlton Walker, was offered “the last drop” of a bottle of wine, to mark the completion and celebrations of the restaurant, hence the hotels current name.

Warmly welcomed by the ladies on reception, we headed up to our Executive double room.  Spacious and immaculate room presentation, a great start to our super spa stay.  The bedside area has a lamp, decent shelving unit and plenty of plugs for all your tech gadgets.

The desk entertainment area with flat screen television, can double up as an ideal work area, as there is also complimentary high-speed internet access, or as a vanity area. A logo embossed Last Drop Hotel notepad and pencil along with a well-appointed tea tray with coffee, tea and herbal teas was provided.

The contemporary bathroom included a sunken bathtub, overhead shower unit, heated towel unit, bidet and toilet.  Well designed and an ideal space for getting spruced up for dinner at the onsite Courtyard restaurant.

With this being an Executive room, upgraded toiletries were included and even the toilet roll had The Last Drop Village logo sticker detail!

Everything about the Executive package is about making sure you have a sweet stay. Extra Exec perks included complimentary Chocolate, mineral water and welcome drinks vouchers.  Along with the fluffy robes, slippers and moisturiser pre-placed on the bed which made our stay super snug and easy.

Escape life’s hustle and bustle and indulge in some self-love.  Treat yourself to a treatment at their onsite spa and prepare for the ultimate in rest and relaxation.

Hayley my therapist was personable, friendly and provided a relaxed tone for my treatment session.  Using divine Declor products for my facial and then having a heavenly head massage with essential oils.

Tranquillity awaits your arrival at the Spa room where after treatment you can sit back and chill, enjoy the view, as you enjoy sipping complimentary herbal teas, iced tea, juice or water, as you catch up with friends or simply reflect and refocus your mind.

The Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa has all the facilities, that you need to get your mind and body relaxed, revitalised and reinvigorated, including a huge 18 meters long swimming pool with a spacious poolside seating area.

Their Hydrotherapy pool, that exposes the body to hot then cold water, is believed to have extensive health benefits.  Also, there is a generous poolside area for those what want some chill out time.

The wonderful waterfall feature is stunning, combined with chilling out at the pool edge, with fresh breeze and air, looking out onto the distance, this is the ultimate pamper session.

The range of therapeutic rooms on offer was impressive, and the ultimate in de-stressing, including a rock Sauna, Bio Sauna, Steam Room, Aroma Grotto and halotherapy room with dry salt aerosol believed to have a whole range of health benefits.

Fancy building up a sweat of a different kind, you can always hit the onsite gym, that has a whole range of equipment, to keep your body on top form.

After chillaxing head into the Last Drop pretty picturesque village, soak up the atmosphere, take a moment to have a selfie by the water fountain or grab bite to eat at the Village Tea shop.

The Village Tea Shop, a quaint, sweet place, with their own resident fluffy teddy bear keeping watch outside.  The amazing Afternoon Tea was spot on and included a range of freshly cut finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, jam and a range of fabulous fancy sweet treats.

After tea enjoy some fresh air, as you stroll around the gorgeous green grounds with fab florals and mini water feature.  Then, head on up, back to the comfort of your executive room and refresh yourself ready for drinks and dinner at the onsite Bar and Restaurant – The Courtyard.

Situated in a stunning converted barn, start in the cosy snug area, with lovely Last drop logo cushions, for pre-drinks, then move into the main restaurant with high ceilings and wonderful wood beams.

Dinner was delicious, including nibbles such as the Artisan breads with flavoured oils and olives.  Super starters comprised of the gorgeous goats cheese bon bon’s and the vegetable tempura with sweet chilli dip.

Mouth-watering mains included the rib eye steak with handmade chips, tomato, mushroom, onion rings with peppercorn sauce.  Also, the potato mushroom gnocchi, with a generous serving of chips.

Keeping things savoury we opted for their beautiful cheeseboard with crackers, chutney and grapes.  However, I would also highly recommend the Raspberry & Pistachio Bakewell Tart.

Enjoy breakfast in bed, which included the British Breakfast with tea or coffee or a brilliant vegetarian option with veggie sausages.  Also, continental offerings including fresh fruit, pastries and pure orange juice.

At the Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa, all staff were friendly, knowledgeable and happy to help, there seems to be a real good vibe about the place and a sense of community which gives that home away from home feel.
