Grand Opera House York Cinderella Panto – Review: January 2019

With its opulent and ornate Edwardian décor the Grand Opera House York, located in the centre of York, is a real gem.  Ideal for a festive outing for a Christmas treat.  Whether you fancy the classical or contemporary, The Grand Opera House York has a performance to suit everyone’s genre preference.

Three Bears Productions returned in December 2018, for the third year with the classic pantomime Cinderella.  The star studied cast included Star of Liberty X Michelle Heaton as The Fairy Godmother, Channel 5’s Milkshake Amy Thompson as Cinderella, the magical Martin Daniels as Buttons, Coronation Street’s Ken Morley and Britain’s Naughtiest Dame Steve Wickenden as Covonia and Calpol, with BBC’s Allo’Allo!’s John D Collins as The Baron and Danny Rogers as Dandini.

A super a spellbinding entertaining and fun filled experience with all the slap stick of a cheesy Christmas Panto.  Just be prepared, make sure your vocals are at the ready to shout, “It’s behind you” and of course “Hiya Buttons”.

Missed out in 2018, well make sure you grab your wand, sprinkle some fairy dust and make 2019 your year of magical pantomime, as excitingly they are now taking bookings for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for December 2019, at the Grand Opera House York.

Hi ho, hi ho off to panto we go…have fun!

Thank you for reading 😊

  1. This is amazing, I like the lighting of the inside in the picture, it looks nice. However, I have never seen something like this, but it sounds fun.

  2. I haven’t been to see a Panto in years but I keep reading great reviews for them so next year I’ll definitely have to go along to one.

  3. I have never heard of a full length theater production that was all in pantomime before! Those boxes overlooking the stage must have quite the view of it, though!
