Breakout Manchester Town Hall The Detective Office Game – Review: March 2019

Right in the heart of Manchester city centre, just a hop, skip and jump away from Manchester’s iconic Town hall, Breakout Manchester is an exciting Escape room brand providing an escape from reality with challenges and puzzles to test your mind and imagination.

On arrival the set up looked top notch, with the door to the detective’s office clearly marked and looking like some criminal activities had clearly taken place.

Right from the start, Matt our marvellous games master had bags of energy and enthusiasm, making us motivated and ready to channel out inner Sherlock Holmes and Watson to solve the case.

Grab the tissues, as sadly a young detective has been murdered in his office, but prepare to play the game to perfection, as YOU, yes YOU have been framed as his killer.

To prove your innocence, like us, you must go on the run, get access to the crime scene, in the detective’s office.  Be warned, you must be quick witted and alert, as you only have one hour to crack the case and find out Who killed him, Why and How!

…Otherwise, you are going down for his murder!!  We broke out with just over 6 minutes to spare, question is can you?

Why not get marvellous in Manchester and go large for Madchester a Manc themed escape game.

Zack is a collector and lover of all things Manchester related, us thieves have found ourslebves trapped in his room with only 60 minutes to steel Zack’s valuable collectables and escape before he comes back.

We didn’t manage to get our mitts on his prized Manchester possessions, but perhaps you can?!

Thank you for reading 😊

  1. This looks like so much fun. I never really considered doing something like this but it looks too good to pass up. Will have to give it a try.

  2. Escape rooms are all the rage these days. They are great live-action games in which you’re locked in a room and have to find your way out by either solving a series of elaborate puzzles or getting into shouting matches with your friends until you run out of time, depending on how good you all are at cooperating. It’s like living out a Saw movie, only you don’t have to mutilate yourself (probably).

  3. I have never done an Escape Room, we were bought a voucher though for Christmas so we really should book in! It sounds like you had a fun time at these two even if you didn’t quite breakout of both!
