Rowton Hall Country House Hotel & Spa Chester #Review

Rowton Hall Country House Hotel & Spa Chester Review: November 2019

A hidden Chester gem, Rowton Hall Country House Hotel & spa is located 10/15 minutes away from Chester city centre.

Away from the hustle and bustle, Rowton Hall, provides guests with a cosy Country house spa stay, the ideal place to enjoy some rest and relaxation.

Warmly welcomed at check in right from the word go you are treated as a valued and honoured guest.

The hallway and sophisticated staircase up to our room set the tone for our stay; elegant, indulgent and simply gorgeous.

Our beautiful bedroom split over two levels was a cosy snug hub with fluffy monogrammed robes, slippers and flipflops all provided to use for the duration of our stay.

The desk offers a lovely vanity area and the perfect place to plan your Chester adventures.

Spoilt is one word to describe how we felt, not only was bottled water provided, along with a well-stocked tea tray, but also these lovely Elemis Spa treats.

The spa inspired bathroom had a fully enclosed stand up rainfall shower, huge sunken bathtub and sink with vanity area.

Also, a heated towel rail and complimentary Elemis products such as shampoo and conditioner.

The bar and lounge area had that countryside feel with prints of the local area adorning the wall, snug sofas, log fire and a range of reading materials.

The lounge is perfect to indulge in Rowton Hall’s superb Afternoon tea.  The offering includes a range of fresh finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream along with these dainty and delicate sweet treats.

The onsite spa is a must visit for any guest, as why not make some time for you and indulge.

The spa staff provide a friendly fuss free service making sure guests get to use the facilities without any issues.

Take a dip in the pool, get hot in the sauna, get bubbly in the jacuzzi or simply laze of a lounger and watch the world go by.

While on site, I highly recommend indulging in a treatment or two.  Molly, my therapist a professional expert with in-depth knowledge on all thing’s beauty delivered my facial, body exfoliation and the most amazingly dreamy head massage.

After treatments, you are whisked away to the private relaxation room, a modern contemporary hub with complimentary refreshments and fruit.

Been busy during the day exploring Chester, well fret not as the pool is open in the evening, so why not take to the water at night.

The lovely Langdale restaurant onsite, looked after by the marvellous manager Tom and his team, is the place to satisfy your appetite.

Dinner on both nights of our stay was consistently amazing in terms of both food and service.

Bread rolls and butter to begin, as we peruse the menu, yes please! Super starters included the whipped goat’s cheese with beetroot, salmon and a venison cottage pie.

Marvellous mains included the free-range chicken with fondant potato, steak, butternut squash risotto and an off the menu mushroom samosas which are divine!

Definitely add on sides which included the super star anise carrots, garlic crumb cauliflower cheese and some good triple cooked chunky chips.  All washed down with a virgin mojito and the local Eastgate 88.

Delicious desserts included the chocolate fondant, classic sticky toffee pudding and the banana pudding with peanut brittle.

After dinner, the lounge is the perfect place to kick back and relax for the rest of the evening.

Wake up and work out give the hotels onsite gym a whirl, but if that is not your thing make your way straight to breakfast.

The continental offerings include plentiful pastries, fruit, cereals, yogurt and several juices.

The hot options include the Rowton full English and the vegetarian option along with toast, butter, tea and coffee.

Fancy a lie in, well for a small tray charge have breakfast brought to you and enjoy beautiful breakfast in bed.

A trip to Rowton Hall Country House Hotel & Spa in Chester would not be complete without exploring their grounds.

They have a fully equipped tennis court, their very own herb garden with produce used in their cooking and the magical grounds have that secret garden vibe.

  1. Lovely, lovely place to stay! I like the cozy ambiance. It has this old country home charm with modern amenities mixed in! If I were in the area, I would definitely pick this place for some much needed rest and relaxation!
