My Best Manchester Hotels – Review: December 2019

Here are my best Manchester hotels in no particular order…
DoubleTree by Hilton® Hotel Manchester Piccadilly
The DoubleTree by Hilton® Hotel Manchester Piccadilly, is just a few minute’s walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station, so ideal to go from train to room in record time.
An exciting, electric and eclectic part of the city where you can even watch Manchester’s iconic yellow trams pass by.

Pitch Facing room, overlooking the Cricket Pitch, with an external private balcony was a breath-taking moment and really made me genuinely smile.
The hotel has a business centre and the gorgeous Garden Grille and Bar, an ideal place to kick back and relax while taking in the surroundings including some fab cricket and event memorabilia adorning the walls.
Located near to all the main transport hubs, such as Manchester Piccadilly & Oxford Road train stations, the Novotel Manchester Centre, is the ideal place to enjoy all of the city action, from a convenient and central base.
Accommodations range from open plan Junior Suites to standard rooms. With an onsite gym, steam room, sauna and business facilities.

Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre

Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel
The Magnificent Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, in Manchester city centre is situated on the banks of the beautiful River Irwell.
With onsite business facilities and the lovely Riverside restaurant, the hotel is ideal for business, family or a romantic break away.
For that extra slice of prestige and premium luxury opt for one of their sensational signature suites. The divine Duplex suite, split over two levels, was super spacious and immediately felt like a home away from home.

The hotel restaurant and bar, Chez Mal Brasserie, is the ideal hotspot for delicious dining and drinks.
Located opposite Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club, Hotel Football Manchester owned by Manchester United’s super star players, full back Gary Neville and retired winger Ryan Giggs, continue their play of the pitch and have teamed together to bring us a hotel of dreams.
With standard rooms, super fan class of 92 rooms along with a rooftop football pitch you can really live in the football moment.
The onsite restaurant and bar café football has to be a goal for sure.
First opened in 1890, as The Refuge Assurance Company Headquarters, a landmark location within Manchester city centre, The Principal Hotel presents Victorian decadence and grandeur.
This terracotta grade II listed building shapes Manchester’s skyline with its unmissable iconic clock tower.
The stunning sculptured horse stands proud in reception set a light by the breathtakingly beautiful sky dome which dominates divinely with style and grace. Along with cosy rooms, business facilitates and the onsite Refuge restaurant this place makes for a brilliant Manchester stay.
Ibis Manchester Portland Street
The Ibis Manchester Centre 96 Portland Street Hotel located near Manchester Piccadilly train station and the Manchester Arndale shopping centre is right in the heart of all the exciting city action.
The rooms are cosy and snug and have all you need when you visit Manchester. Recent refurbishments have just seen them recreate a lovely lobby and lounge area.
Along with their onsite CHILL#96 bar is the perfect place to have a drink or two while you people watch.
Last but in no means least in the Village Hotel Bury, located in greater Manchester, it is the perfect place to stay for leisure or business.
they have gone all out on their Christmas decorations and even have a super cool and plush cinema style movie area.
The Club rooms have amazing onsite perks including complimentary access to V Works shared work space and the onsite gym with pool, steam room and sauna.
Now, you have no excuse, get your train booked, bags packed and Visit Manchester for a fabulous Christmas city break away.

Although we live just an hour’s away from Manchester, we do stay over especially when there is an event, party or concert so your list is so comprehensive. I am booking this as a guide for when we next need a hotel stay in Manchester.

I love visiting Manchester such a wonderful city to explore and I have friends who live there too so always good to catch up. I’ll have to keep this list in mind next time I am booking a hotel for the weekend

You’ve stayed in some lovely hotels in the Manchester area. I’m a fan of the Crown Plaza and Hilton chains but the Principal looks fab too

I’ve only ever been to Manchester once for the day to catch a flight. There are so many great hotels here. I stayed at a Blu Raddison several years ago in Chicago and loved it.
