City Cruises York Self Drive Boats, Lunch and Afternoon Tea Review: September 2020 #Gifted
City Cruises offer a whole range of exciting adventures aboard the river Ouse York, including Self Drive boats, Lunch and Afternoon Tea.
Become captain of your very own vessel and cruise your way down the river Ouse York, in style.
Jack was an amazing chap, welcomed us warmly, provided instructions and our life jackets.
In your self drive motorboat, that can accommodate 8 people, explore York’s sights seamlessly, as the Vikings once did.
Hire is by the half hour or full hour and City Cruises York have fourteen Red Boats in total, their names are Josephine, Angie, Leonie, Sarah, Yvette, Kathryn, Alice-May, Lucy, Tina, Heather, Ellen, Rebecca, Emma and Penny!
Have fun and sail your boat all the way down the Ouse and you will even see the millennium bridge.
Fancy chilling, hand over the skipper duties and sit back and relax, as you take in the sights.
Enjoy the brilliant bridges and York’s stunning sights and amazing atmosphere, as you bob down the river Ouse.
Fancy some York sightseeing, but feel a bit peckish, well I have the perfect solution, a Lunch cruise along the river Ouse.
Meet the lovely captain and skippers who will make sure that you have a smooth sailing.
We got lucky and bagged the Captains table which made the lunch that little bit extra special.
The two course lunch with tea and coffee included is home cooked and warming with options such as wellington, hunters chicken all served with potatoes and veggies.
Soak in your surroundings such as the beautiful Bishops palace, as you then enjoy a delicious dessert which was a fruity chocolate roulade and fruit cake with berry compote.
The King’s Staith Landing location, on the picturesque river Ouse in York, is where City Cruises York depart for their amazing Afternoon Tea cruise.
Their fully roofed brilliant boat will protect you from natures elements and allow you to sit back, relax and enjoy.
The amazing Afternoon tea consists of sandwiches and some scrummy sweets treats.
There are plenty of scrummy sandwiches and lots of delicious dessert options such as carrot cake and scones with cream and jam.
Tea and coffee are also included with the option to add on some of the fizzy stuff.
Let Captain James Cook and his team of loyal skippers, sail you down the river Ouse in style, for a full 1 hour and 30 minutes, ship ahoy.
City Cruises York, the only way to cruise the Ouse!

I love the idea of going on a dinner cruise because it’s so romantic. There was one dinner cruise operator here in our city but they stopped operations way before the pandemic.
