DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa Review: November 2020 #Gifted

Built in 1889, the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa is located in an enviable postcode in the heart of Harrogate.

The hotel sits on eight acres of lovely landscaped gardens and is near to all that Harrogate has to offer.

The warm welcome was much needed and the stay got off to a flying start when handed some of the DoubleTree signature warm chocolate chip cookies to take up to our room.

The room had the Hilton Clean Stay guarantee, a breakable seal to show that no one has entered the room since cleaning which was great reassurance and along with the room view across Harrogate we knew our stay was going to be fabulous.

The super stylish Junior Suite with a cosy King bed with 250 thread count sheets, LCD TV, Seating area with sofa, vanity area/workstation, blackout curtains and a Nespresso machine is the perfect way to stay and play.

The bathroom with full standing power shower, complimentary toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razor, toothbrush, mouthwash made our stay even more relaxed and easy.

The beautiful bath was the ideal place to simply sit back, soak and unwind after a busy day in Harrogate.

Even with Covid-19 and some facilities such as the steam room and sauna not on, the onsite spa is absolutely next level and has a huge indoor poor to enjoy some swim time.

Importantly, the spa has been traffic controlled extremely efficiently and effective by the team, so there is never a ‘busy’ period.

Poolside is the perfect place to relax kick back and enjoy a book while enjoy some liquid refreshments.

Treatment rooms have different themes such as the amazing Aqua Marine and Jess who delivered me a full body and head massage could not have been more graceful delivering a gorgeous treatment.

After some rest and relaxation head back to your Junior suite and enjoy some of the in-room perks such as the snug robes and slippers and the complementary tea caddy with Harrogate bottled mineral water and of course Yorkshire tea for a proper brew.

Being in a suite also meant complimentary beverages with a well-stocked mini bar which included soft drinks and snacks.

Excellent evenings can be enjoyed in your room with the in-room dining option.  The perfect way to enjoy time with your loved one and enjoy some fabulous food direct to your door.  Eloise made the order process super easy too.

Scrummy starters such as the delicious crab cakes, provincial salad and olives are an absolute triumph.

Marvellous mains included the Carter Burger with skinny fries and the Vegan Oomph Burger with sweet potato fries.  Add on sides such as fine green buttered beans and grilled corn.

Delicious desserts included the orange and chocolate gluten free vegan tart with orange sorbet and the classic sticky toffee pudding.

After a good night’s sleep make your way down to breakfast where a warm welcome awaits as Lynn and her breakfast team have things running like clockwork.

Breakfast included porridge, fruits, pastries and a range of hot options such as the full English and Vegetarian breakfast.

Beautiful building, the hotel has retained some of the character and charm creating an elegant and sophisticated environment.

Fredericks bar is the ideal place to enjoy a cocktail or glass of fix before heading into Carters restaurant for your food fix.  Carters has a rather royal and regal theme, I loved the details including freeze dried flowers and the homage to Queen Victoria.

Our lovely server Taylor made sure that she looked after us throughout the evening.

Chef and the kitchen are doing an amazing job and can clearly cook, the delicious mains included the ribs with slaw and corn and then the vegan Oomph dish.

The starter of the brilliant bean terrine with humus and chutney was amazing, and the desserts got scoffed in record time.

Fancy a trip to Harrogate, after lockdown, make sure you visit in style with the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa.

Thank you for reading 😊
