Take in the Lovely Llandudno Bay Views

From the St Georges Rooftop rooms there are amazing views across the bay with of course the Welsh flag proudly flying at full mast.

Gwrych Castle Estate

Gwrych Castle is a Grade I listed country house in north Wales, and stands in 250 acres of gardens and grounds and has extensive views over former parkland including a deer park and the Irish Sea.

The Castle also recently hosted the fabulous I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here with Ant & Dec, and a whole host of celebs, so don’t be camera shy and take your moment to shine.  

Little Orme

The Little Orme hump is 141 metres in height, and is one of two headlands situated at either end of Llandudno Bay, offering visitors a perfect panoramic scenic view marked by a trig point this is a must see for sure.

Llandudno Pier  

Llandudno Pier is a Grade II listed and at 2,295 feet, the pier is the longest in Wales and the fifth longest in England and Wales.

This exciting attraction offers fabulous family fun with arcades, rides, food outlets, shops, so perfect for picking up all those souvenirs for family and friends.

There is even a copy of the famous fortune teller machine Zoltar from the film BIG which is very cool!

Boat Excursion

One of the best ways for you to see Llandudno is from a boat. Hop aboard Sea-Jay for a one hour or half hour sightseeing trip to see the Little and Great Orme.

Llandudno Cable Cars

Prepare to experience an exhilarating and exciting experience by taking a journey in your very own four-seater cable car, that are carried on a steel cable weighing in at around 17 tons and is over two miles long, from Great Orme Summit.

Being high in the sky, the highest point from the valley floor is over 80 feet, you and your team can enjoy some stunning ariel views of Llandudno in cable cars that have been operating since June 1969.

Copper Mines

Uncovered in 1987, the world’s largest prehistoric copper mine, located at Great Orme Summit complex, is a jaw dropping archaeological discovery dating back over 4,000 years to the Bronze Age.

The tour of the mines is self – guided and around 45 minutes.  The route through the mine is approximately 200 metres. There are slopping tunnels, 35 steps going down into the mine and the same number coming back up.

Great Orme Tramway

The Great Orme Tramway which opened in 1902 is Britain’s only surviving funicular, or cable-hauled, tramway that travels on public roads.

The Tramway climbs a mile (1500m) through the Great Orme Country Park and Nature Reserve to the Great Orme’s spectacular summit. Re-live the experience of travel more than 100 years ago in the lovingly restored original tramcars, each named after a Saint.

Great Orme Summit

The Great Orme Summit is a height of 679 ft summit of the Great Orme in Llandudno.
offering breath-taking views of Llandudno, areas of Snowdonia National Park, the Isle of Anglesey and the Irish sea.

There is a trig marker and silver directional dial so you can pinpoint exact locations with ease.  The views are stunning, so it is well worth a visit.

Also, at the summit complex there is a gift shop, bar, restaurant, café, children’s playground, mini golf and visitor centre too.

The Rocking Stone

The Rocking Stone, Maen Sicl, located at Great Orme.  Legend has it that Druids used this rocking stone to decide whether criminals were innocent or guilty.

The accused allegedly stood on the stone and if the stone rocked it proved innocence, but if not they were taken to the nearby cliff and thrown off to the rocks below.

Thrill seekers, get your hiking boots on and stomp your way up the largest mountain in Wales.

Alice in Wonderland Town Trails

Follow the White Rabbit feet and be dazzled as you go on your very Alice style treasure hunt, by finding all the Alice in Wonderland Statues and figures located throughout Llandudno Bay. 

A fun family activity for all ages, that gets you active in the outdoors and provides some brilliant family photo opportunities.

Apparently, all the way back to 1861, when the eight year old Alice Pleasance Liddell (the real ‘Alice’ in Wonderland) spent the first of many summer holidays in Llandudno. 

Her holiday home ‘Penmorfa’, was built on Llandudno’s West Shore. The Liddells were close family friends with Charles Dodgson, who wrote the books under his more famous pen-name, Lewis Carroll.

Conwy’s quayside

Conway’s Quayside is a sophisticated seaside location and even has its very own Conway Castle!

Walk the walls, enjoy the boats, and why not keep traditional and head to the chips for some Chips and fish with lashings of salt and vinegar, yummy.

The Smallest House in Great Britain

The Smallest House in Great Britain, with just enough room for a single bed, a fireplace and a coal bunker, can be found nestled amongst a terrace of houses on Conwy’s quayside.

The Smallest House in Great Britain is just 72 inches wide by 122 inches high. It was occupied right up until May 1900.  The last person to live in the house was a local fisherman called Robert Jones who also apparently happened to be 6 foot 3!

A little further afield, perfect when you fancy popping in the car straight from the hotel for a longer day out is the Llanddwyn Island situated in Anglesey. and Snowden National Park in Llanberis.

Twr Mawr Lighthouse & Twr Bach Lighthouse on Ynys Llanddwyn Island

An absolute must be a day trip to then lovely Llanddwyn Island situated in Anglesey.

The island has two lighthouses the Twr Mawr & Twr Bach also features the original cottages, cross and other spectacular sights.

With beautiful coastline views, secluded beaches and mountain scenery it really is a super spectacular place to visit.

Snowdon Mountain

For the adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers travel a little further and you have the opportunity to climb Wales’s largest Mountain Mount Snowdon. 

Llanberis path is the longest but easier route, but there are plenty of other routes that have more of an edge, if that is what you are after.
