Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa Gloucestershire #Gifted

Gorgeous Gloucestershire is the stunning countryside location of the attractive 17th Century Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa set in a 37-acre parkland Estate surrounded by stunning gardens and an orchard.

Immediately upon arrival you know that your stay at Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa is going to be exquisite just by the warm welcome alone!

Steeped in history and charm, the beautiful building of Hatherley Manor dates back to 1022 and at the general survey of 1086 Domesday it was found that Edmar a thane had held the estate of Hatherley during the reign of Edward the Confessor.

A portion of the Hatherley Estate was even once owned by Sir Matthew Wood who has been Lord Mayor of London twice! The three-time Mayor of Gloucester Anthony Gilbert Jones also had past possession.

The hotel has sympathetically designed the property to mix both the old and new without causing disjoint.  This is reflected within the accommodations offered, as for the ultimate in luxury the double deluxe bedrooms have both traditional and contemporary styled rooms, so the choice is all yours.

Our delightful Double Deluxe 240 Bedroom is a lovely large luxurious room offering with neutral relaxing décor with a large lcd television, underfloor heating, huge wardrobe, desk, with café du Monde tea and coffee facilities, mini fridge and the all-important complimentary Wi-Fi which I tired out and it was spot on.

The beautiful bathroom with a massive walk-in wet room style shower room, a sunken tub bath, his and her basins, bidet and complimentary spa toiletries for the duration of your stay.

The room boasts a balcony with floor to ceiling patio style slide doors, so pop on one of the in room snug robes, sit back relax, enjoy the tranquillity and views of the walled garden.

The balcony is also the place to indulge your foodie side, as the room service menu really is well worth trying, as the starters, mains and desserts we tried were all amazing, as you can see from the photos.

Now it’s time to enjoy some much deserved you time, but before heading down to the spa, the double deluxe 240 bedrooms have an extra perk, as there is a sun-soaked balcony terrace where you can simply chill and enjoying the rolling countryside views that is Holiday vibes right there.

The stunning spa at Hatherley is the perfect place to unwind, the team are a really lovely bunch and have built a relaxing environment for guests to enjoy their spa experience.

The vitality pool is really high tech and has a water massage jet to each seat, neck massage cannons and volcano pads making sure you are well looked after.

The spa swimming pool is super spacious and there are also plenty of luxury loungers so you can chill out pool side in comfort. The complimentary branded flip flops are also a nice touch…

The pool also provides fabulous views onto the walled garden, a secluded area which has some outdoor seating such as the relaxing pods.  Also, there is a spa bar, so get that fizz at the ready.

As if that was not enough there is a relaxation room, sauna, steam room, tepidarium, heated loungers and experience showers which we loved.

Now after all that, you have probably built up an appetite and the team at Hatherley Manor have you covered, as with their onsite restaurant, you will be spoilt for choice.

The restaurant team are super lovely, and the menu was varied, so all good.  Super starters included arancini balls, chilli prawns and they had a range of boards, the cheese one was divine.

Marvellous mains included the chicken, a delicious Mediterranean warming tagine and a whole range of scrummy sides such as veggies and triple cooked chips.

Finish sweet and indulge with their chocolate torte and sticky toffee pudding perfectly presented.  In fact, just like the setting, a very characterful and historical setting with lots of nooks and crannies.

After a very peaceful and cosy nights sleep, we had the pleasure of breakfast brought up to our bedroom, enjoyed on our balcony this delightful offering provided hot options such as a full English, vegetarian, fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, a really nice way to start off the morning.

Looking for a perfect Gloucestershire Cotswolds spa stay, with exceptional accommodations, fabulous food all which can be enjoyed in a beautiful setting then Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa is just what you have been looking for.

Thank you for reading

  1. I’m not vaxxed for medical reasons and I am desperate to find a place to go away in the UK, like “away away” if you know what I mean. We live in Nottinghamshire so this would be a nice getaway “away” 😉

  5. Your room looks so beautiful and plush. I wouldn’t need to plan anything else – just go to the hotel and spa and stay there for a refreshing getaway. I can only imagine how rejuvenated I would be feeling after just a weekend there.

  6. Note to self: never read your posts when I’m hungry! Lol. This hotel looks simply amazing. There is nothing better, in my opinion, than a place that has a rich history like Hatherley Manor. Striking the balance between that history and modern upgrades and additions is a difficult task, because that history and personality of a building can be destroyed if a designer doesn’t have experience like that. So to see how well Hatherley Manor has struck that balance is amazing, and I’m definitely adding this to the list of places I need to stay! This is the kind of hotel and spa I want to visit for a week, and leave my phone and tablet at the front desk so I can just relax and not be bothered.
