Beech Hill Hotel and Spa Windermere Review: October 2017

The Beech Hill Hotel and spa located in an enviable postcode in the heart of Lake Windermere sets the scene for an exquisite atmospheric Cumbrian countryside break. The hotel has evolved over time, with the renovations being sympathetic to the original building to retain both its character and charm.

Warmly welcomed by The Beech Hill Hotel team and shown to our room which was fully appointed with two double beds, a spacious dining area, a snug sofa, a dressing table, a quality hairdryer, a generous tea tray, guest information and Lakes brochure guides, that were cram packed with ideas and suggestions of fun activities.  The hotel is no more than a ten minute drive to Bowness-on-Windermere, a town which is a hive of activity with attractions such as the Beatrix Potter Tea Rooms, Quaint English pubs and boat tours from the banks of Lake Windermere.

Impossible Manchester Restaurant and Gin Bar Review

Impossible Manchester Restaurant and Gin Bar Review: October 2017

The beautiful, bold, Be – Impossible Manchester, located in an enviable position on Peter Street, have opened their theatrical doors, that has a 280 cover bar and restaurant space, a gin possible nest and the theatre of dreams, which awaits your arrival.

Décor was an eclectic mix of the quirky, unusual and the contemporary.  With a mix of high ceilings with decadent chandeliers, chrome accessories, lanterns, wood tree bases and retro records.

We began our journey with a classic porn star martini shaken up with Russian standard, butterscotch liqueur, passion fruit, vanilla, pineapple and lemon finished with some fizzy prosecco.  Let tasty taco time comment with the Greek Good filled with feta, avocado, black bean and salsa rossa.  also, the Asian Spice stuffed with silken tofu, cucumber, Chinese leaf spring onion, chilli, soya and ginger.  Also, loving the lush handmade crispy duck spring rolls with plum and schezwan sauce.

Wild Drinks Review

Wild Drinks Review: September 2017

Jonathan Wallington, the fabulous founder of the wonderful Wild drinks brand, has experienced a complex entrepreneurial journey, that has seen both highs and lows, but after a lot of energy, effort and enthusiasm, WILD drinks are here and yes they are wild, as the original idea behind WILD was a ‘Sloe-gasm’! ‘Sloe-gasm’ a mix of champagne and sloe gin came about after Jonathan had a bumper Sloe crop in 2012 on his Dorset farm. Sloes at the ready and several crafty concoctions later Jonathan settled for a Perry base sourced from the North of England, Gin from the Thames distillers, finished off with natural ingredients which are gluten free, suitable for vegans, low in calories, naturally light and made in the UK.

Jonathan has focused on every detail even down to the bottle branding, that has a natural, sophisticated and elegant design, which is synonymous with the quality of the natural spritz drink contained inside. Jonathan has delivered delicious drinks which the discerning drinker can enjoy in the comfort of their own home.

The new Superstar Sloe is scrummy, serve straight up, stick in a straw and it is good to go. A vibrant velvety colour and a warm flavour make this drink perfect to serve on any occasion.

Winner of a 2017 Great Taste Award, The Elderflower Spritz made a lovely lush Elderflower, apple and gin cocktail. Garnish with lemon and apple for refreshing floral and delicate sipper which would be a great addition to any dinner party.

The Living Room Restaurant and Bar Manchester Review

The Living Room Restaurant and Bar Manchester Review: September 2017

Destination Deansgate Manchester, where The Living Room Restaurant and Bar awaited our arrival to showcase exactly what they had to offer. Welcomed warmly, by both the door security and floor staff, we were shown through to the main dining area, décor featured a mix of creams, subtle metallics, pastel greens and rose, with feature lit potted trees, well placed angled mirrors, plush booth seating with plumped up cushions all gave that dining in a secret garden feel. Subdue lighting along with some mixed-up music beats set a relaxed scene. The cool, chic, contemporary stylish décor theme continued throughout this classy dining experience.

Amazing accessories, such as the brushed metallic menus, gold dust speckled plates, brushed copper pepper & Salt pots and neutral stone napkins dressed the table to impress. The devil is in the detail and The Living Room have got this one down. Nice nibbles included olives, ciabatta bread with balsamic dipping oils all washed down with a novelty yet quality cocktail; The Polaroid Martini was picture perfection, but get ready to say cheese, because now it’s your turn to shine, as your snap shot will be attached to this innovative cocktail creation. The cocktail also delivered on taste, mixed up with Absolut Mango, White Peach Puree, Vanilla Sugar syrup, Pineapple Juice and Lemon Juice, this drink is now one of my personal favs.
