Roxy Ball Room Manchester

Roxy Ball Room Manchester Review: August 2018

Rock up to Roxy Ball Room Manchester, located on Deansgate, and prepare for a fab fun filled game playing experience.  Check in with the team, Molly, Ashley and Laura, a bunch of laid back, friendly guys and gals, who will make sure you have a shed load of fun.

Stripes or spots, either way prepare to go large, when you play pool on Roxys full size Sam K Tables.  Rent them by the half hour and pot your way to winning.

Relax and refuel Roxy style, opt for their platter and make way for a monster feast including classic pizza slices, Buffalo chicken wings, mac & cheese bites, onion rings, garlic ciabatta, and fries galore. Wash this all down with a pint of beer or a berry mocktail.

Bring on the ball control and prepare to ping pong your way to victory on the Roxy full size competition tables.  Again rentable by the half hour.

On a winning streak, I managed to ping pong my way to the number one spot and found the game totally addictive, it was hard to put the bat down, but it was time to move on.

After winning both Pool and Ping Pong, feeling pretty confident I headed on upstairs with my plus one, for 18 holes of crazy golf, preparing to perfect my swing and get a hole in one.

Prepare to chillax, as you enter a Jamaican style smooth tropical paradise, with shack style seating and chilled music vibes.

Hit the beach, Treasure Isle or get jamming with Bob Marley as you race your way to the top spot.

Finally, dare to enter smugglers cove, challenge them pirates and bag that treasure chest.

Shiver me timbers, all games complete, Ball control skills on top form and clearly on a winning streak, I bagged all 3 victories! Hey look, you might balls things up, but everyone is a winner at Roxy’s, roll on the good times, Eat, Drink & Play.

Bill’s Restaurant Manchester New Menu Review

Bill’s Restaurant Manchester New Menu Review: August 2018

Think warm, cosy and inviting, Bill’s Manchester is a homely hub and an ideal place for a family gathering, catching up with friends or dining with a loved one.

Décor is a shabby chic mix, with washed stripped woods, velvet seating, worn leather relaxers, charming chandlers and candles.

Warm welcomes are what I love about Bill’s and they have never failed yet.  Staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and have a genuine want to make your visit top notch.  The Manchester manager and his team deliver on all points.

Excitingly Bill’s New Menu is Now out! Great to see that Bill’s have kept firm favs such as the tasty Crumbed Halloumi Sticks with lime aioli and Giant Green Gordal Olives.  New starters including the brilliant Beetroot and Goats Cheese Arancini with purple basil, beetroot & pine nut pesto and seeds which were gorgeous and scoffed in record time.

Also, the Ancient Grain Bowl a super sensational Salad of wild rice, buckwheat, toasted millet, black quinoa, asparagus, charred broccoli, roasted cherry tomatoes, red pepper, avocado, spring onion, red pepper tapenade, seeds and lemon dressing

Why not wash these down with a super duper healthy Kale, spinach, mango, apple juice Super Greens Smoothie and a large glass of awesome Orange Juice.

Mains have been mixed up with a new introduction of Pan Fried Sea Bass with an avocado, cherry tomato & caper salsa and herb rösti.  Alongside the classic Bill’s Halloumi Burger, with tomato hummus, sweet chilli sauce, roasted red peppers, pea shoots, red onion, lime aioli, sesame bun and fries, the new menu rocks! Keep things cool with the Peach and Fresh Mint Iced Tea and a bottle of Bill’s beer.

Finish fabulous with the Warm Triple Chocolate Brownie with warm chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and a chocolate flake and the wonderful Warm Mini Cinnamon Doughnuts with fresh strawberries, warm chocolate and salted caramel dipping sauces.

Keep refreshed, while enjoying your delicious desserts, with the Watermelon and Raspberry Cooler mixed up with Bill’s Pink Lemonade and a Watermelon, Peach and Raspberry Juice.

Enjoy the New Bill’s Menu, with new additions, alongside the classics, but the brand has retained their signature relaxed friendly feel, service and all-round good times vibe.

Coronation Street The Tour Review

Coronation Street The Tour Review: July 2018

Manchester’s media city is the place to make your on street debut on Weatherfields famous Coronation street.

Wonderful Weatherfield, a fictional town based on Salford, is the setting for the ITV Coronation Street Soap.

Be streetwise with your foot wear choices, and prepare for a few bumps along the way, on the streets iconic corrie cobbles.  Amazing Allan, our lovely tour guide, gave nothing but a smooth performance.

The first glimpse you see the brilliant Bistro, Dev and Sunita Alahan’s convenience store and located at no 10 the Kabin News Agents.

Turn the corner, take a breath, and there you have it Coronation Street in all its glory.  Jack and Vera Duckworth’s, stone clad terraced, as iconic as the Coronation Cobbles.

Park up at the plats for a cuppa before you head on into Underworld for your shift in the knicker factory, but make sure that you don’t air your dirty linen in public!

Got a puncture, call into Webster’s Autocentre and Kevin will sort you out.  While you wait, grab a copy of the Weatherfield Gazzette, to catch up on all the weathy gossip.

Take a moment Imagine the buzz on filming day, as the characters prepare for another day in Wetherfield, rolling into the Rovers Return for a glass or two of their fav tipple.

Ooo go on then duck, I’ll have a bag of chippy chips with lashings of salt and vinegar, from For Your Fries Only.  Head under the arch, turn right, to get the back street take on the street, down the graffitied back alley.

Weatherfield bus late again, no worries, why not stop at Steve’s Street Cars for a ride into town.

For a traditional Manchester Café, try out the Pie and Peas, at Roys Rolls proper comfort food!

The street sets the scene for sensational story lines and twisted plots, including heartbreak, deceit and murder.

Recreating, a dark side of the street…The terrifying Tina McIntyre monumental moment, where she plunged to her death, in the Coronation cliff-hanger story line.

Welcome, Victoria Street new additions including Speed Dial, the snooker hall and even a tattoo parlour to encompass the evolving modern Manchester lifestyle.

Weatherfield train line delays, no worries chill and chat in Costa, over cup of coffee and see who is having a heart to heart in the community gardens.

Humming the Corrie Orrie theme tune, in my head, as I left the street to end what was a fabulous classic Coronation Street tour.

Our super sensational Sunday lunch began with fresh Soup, a crispy bread roll, all washed down with a range of light liquid refreshments.

Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester City Centre Review

Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester City Centre Review: May 2018

The 5-star iconic Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester is located in the home of Manchester’s historic Free Trade Hall and is the original home to the Hallé Orchestra, which is steeped in history and old school decadence and charm.

Originally, built in 1853 to commemorate the repel of the corn laws and sympathetically refurbished in 2004, retaining original features such as the façade, to create this stunning five-star hotel, with spa, restaurant and a bar.

Make your way through the airy, impressive and exquisite lobby, which hosts a mix of eclectic contemporary décor including a giant cockerel, bold Buddha head and some interesting wall art.

Grafene Manchester Dinner Review

Grafene Manchester Dinner Review: April 2018

Grafene is a unique cutting edge innovative restaurant and bar located in upmarket King Street in Manchester city centre.  Owners Paul and Kathryn, with a wealth of experience behind them, used this knowledge to bring Manchester a modern British menu, with food being locally sourced where possible, to all be enjoyed in a relaxed setting.

Décor is an mix of industrial, with earthy coloured upholstered seating, softened with fabrics, fresh flowers and amazing artwork.  All this along with the wide-open windows, that allows for masses of natural light, has brought the countryside indoors, vamped up with some city edge.

Seating includes intimate tables for two, booths for larger gatherings with friends or family, and a discreet private dining area, that is offset from the main room, which gives the feeling of privacy without being cut off from the atmosphere.
