LOCKEDIN Games York Review

LOCKEDIN Games York Review: April 2019

LOCKEDIN Games York, located opposite the Yorkshire Museum, is an exciting escape experience where you and your squad can test their mind and motivation to see if you have all got what it takes to escape within 60 minutes.

Both Rages to Riches and Caught in the Act, custom built escape rooms, cleverly incorporate York as a theme, while still retaining the quality and authenticity of the rooms.

Puzzles made sense and structured well, challenged your mind, but without frustration.  The games masters are also super duper lovely too.

Caught in the Act Escape Room

It’s your time to get your razzle dazzle on, be the star of the show and with jazz hands at the ready you open the dressing room door to make your grand stage entrance, but only to find the door has been locked.

Sabotage by your under study or perhaps a simple door jam hmm? Either way all that matters is you must get out within 60 minutes, as the Show must go on with or without you and you don’t want your acting career to be over before it’s begun.

Grand Opera House York Club Tropicana Review

Grand Opera House York Club Tropicana Review: April 2019

The gorgeous Grand Opera House prepared their best 80’s vibes, as they hosted the brilliant brand new 80s inspired Musical, from the producers of the hit UK tour of Hairspray, Club Tropicana.

The all-star cast features the likes of Joe McElderry (X Factor winner and star of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Emily Tierney (Wicked, The Wizard of Oz), Kate Robbins (Spitting Image, Dinnerladies), Neil McDermott (EastEnders, The Sound of Music); and former Sugababe star Amelle Berrabah.

Leave your worries behind you, board the plane, feel that heat and sizzle of the summer sunshine and top up your tan. Let your hair down, as the cast take you on a trip back to the 80’s, as you check into the Club Tropicana where the drinks are free and good times are plentiful.

Beautiful bride and groom get cold feet, so jet of for some fun in the sun with friends only to have checked into the same hotel. With love potentially still in the air, hotel inspectors trying to close the resort and staff holding up the fort, this hilarious slapstick cheesy production is sure to get your smile on.

Luxury York Guide with Visit York and The Judge’s Lodging– Review: January 2019

Founded at the confluence of the rivers Foss and Ouse, with an eclectic mix of Georgian, Medieval and Victorian characteristics, the wonderful walled city of York, with winding quaint, narrow streets and snickleways, has been perfectly preserved making it a picturesque location which combines historical heritage with sophisticated, contemporary amenities.

Known as Eoforwick to the Saxons, Eboracum to the Romans and then invaded by the Vikings who coined the name Jorvik, York is a city steeped in history and charm, an architectural Aladdin’s cave of all things historic, but is an ever-evolving city which offers a range of exciting events, activities, museums and restaurants.  Take on the wonderful wall walk and see if you can complete the complete circuit.

Where to stay

The Judges lodging

Think relaxed luxury, charm and elegance, the Judge’s Lodging located in an enviable postcode in the centre of York, in north-east England, perfectly situated in the main hub for easy access to all the city’s main attractions.

A gorgeous Grade I listed building, a Georgian townhouse steeped in charm and history, whereby the building’s origins date back to 1710 when it was built as a private residence.

Eventually, after the passing of the owner, the building became the residence of judges attending the Assize court sessions and remained so until around 1976. This stunning residence has a restaurant, two bars and some super special character rooms.

The Clifton was a super sensational cosy classy room rich in detail and historic charm.  Décor a mix of subtle neutral shades, quality furnishings, fine fabrics with a touch of chic added with the fab vintage telephone.

Immediately, walking into a lovely lounge, well appointed, with some super scrummy shortbread, water, tea, coffee and also fresh milk.
