GinFestival.com Tinker Box Cosy nights in Edition Review: December 2017
Founded in 2013 by the lovely husband & wife team, Jym and Marie Harris, lovers of all things gin wanted to create events all across the UK where industry experts along with brands and distillers could educate people and provide the opportunity to learn about a range of quality fine gins and of course sample a few.
Sixth Day of Giftmas: Gift of Oil, Balsamic Lovers Collection – £19.95 – Try some Italian, innovative infusions with these first-class balsamic condiments. Be slick and give the gift of oil.
Located in North Manchester and started in 2001 by Phil Bianchi, The Gift of Oil, was launched because Phil realised that balsamics and oils in the UK did not match up to the same standards as the offerings in the med. Phil’s passion for the Mediterranean lifestyle emerged after working for an olive oil company based in Athens. Phil works with the Di Lorenzo, Verrini and Tagliavini families who produce some authentic oils and balsamics. Hence, why The Gift of Oil brand can deliver quality artisan products at affordable prices.
Third Day of Giftmas: Craft Gin Club Subscription – £40 – Ginoisseurs will welcome being part of this club, that delivers fine small batch gins along with gourmet treats, so let’s make it a happy Ginmas.
Spain which is Europe’s gin capital by volume is where the Craft Gin Club creators Jon Hulme and John Burke first met. In Madrid, a meeting of minds and a few GnTs later the idea of the Craft Gin Club was born. Featuring the world’s finest craft gins along with scrummy treats and their great ‘ginned’ magazine this is one club not to be missed! Their aim is to make all their members Ginnoisseurs!

The Living Room Restaurant and Bar Manchester Review: September 2017
Destination Deansgate Manchester, where The Living Room Restaurant and Bar awaited our arrival to showcase exactly what they had to offer. Welcomed warmly, by both the door security and floor staff, we were shown through to the main dining area, décor featured a mix of creams, subtle metallics, pastel greens and rose, with feature lit potted trees, well placed angled mirrors, plush booth seating with plumped up cushions all gave that dining in a secret garden feel. Subdue lighting along with some mixed-up music beats set a relaxed scene. The cool, chic, contemporary stylish décor theme continued throughout this classy dining experience.
Amazing accessories, such as the brushed metallic menus, gold dust speckled plates, brushed copper pepper & Salt pots and neutral stone napkins dressed the table to impress. The devil is in the detail and The Living Room have got this one down. Nice nibbles included olives, ciabatta bread with balsamic dipping oils all washed down with a novelty yet quality cocktail; The Polaroid Martini was picture perfection, but get ready to say cheese, because now it’s your turn to shine, as your snap shot will be attached to this innovative cocktail creation. The cocktail also delivered on taste, mixed up with Absolut Mango, White Peach Puree, Vanilla Sugar syrup, Pineapple Juice and Lemon Juice, this drink is now one of my personal favs.

Duerr’s Marmalades and Conserves Review: August 2017
Based in marvelous Manchester, there is some real history and knowledge behind the Duerrs brand. All beginning with Fred and Mary Duerr’s homegrown business, since 1881 for 135 years, Duerr’s the oldest family-owned jam maker in England, have been producing preserves using timeless family recipes. The family talents are not just in making perfect preserves, they brought the innovative Orbit™ easy-open lid to market, Europe’s first squeezy jam bottles and impressively invented the periscopes used in World War One.
Sent a stash of delicious, divine and delightful Duerr’s Marmalades and conserves. Still salivating, all the conserves and marmalades were lush. Conserves included the Sunny lemon, Golden orange and totally tangerine. Mouth-watering Marmalades included the classic Seville, Sunny Seville, Golden ginger and half sugar Seville.
