Veganism is a hot trend for 2018 and increasingly becoming a lifestyle choice for many. So much so that the official “Veganuary” charity has been set up to inspire people to try vegan not just in January, but throughout the rest of the year too. Hodmedods Big Vegan Box Review Veganuary 2018: January 2018
The award winning Hodmedods brand base in East Anglia, founded by Nick, Josiah and William in 2012, was due to partaking in the successful Great British Beans trial project. For the purposes of the trial, a tonne of British-grown split fava beans was bought, home packed and distributed throughout the community with a postcard included for feedback.

Nibble Northern Quarter Review Manchester: October 2017
Nestled on Oldham street in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter is the friendly and unpretentious Nibble. A cute café with a chilled vibe where the focus is about personalised customer service and staff engaging in genuine conversation. The décor is relaxed with cosy cushions, quirky light fittings, retro outdoor tables and chairs, planters and various greenery which gave the place a secret garden feel. A lovely local little hub to catch up with friends, family or simply relax and watch the world go by.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen Manchester Spinningfields Review: October 2017
The Gourmet Burger Kitchen brand began in 2001, when world famous chef Peter Gordon along with three kiwi guys set up their first Gourmet Burger Kitchen site in Battersea South London. Now, fast forward to 2017 and they now have over 80 restaurants across the UK. The focus is on quality handcrafted burgers using the freshest ingredients and creating all their burger sauces daily from scratch.
Located Left Bank along the River Irwell, in the heart of Spinningfields is Manchester’s Gourmet Burger Kitchen. The delightful outdoor terrace is great for some al fresco dining in the sun. Décor is light, airy loft feel with contemporary light fittings and table sections. There is a selection of help yourself condiments such as the red and green hot sauces. Service is casual with a relaxed vibe.
Welcomed warmly by the team, we got settled and while perusing the menu, we enjoyed some liquid refreshments including the Meantime London Pale Ale, which has both Kentish and American hops, that give a citrus flavour with a bitter finish. Also, the non-alcoholic Strawberry and elderflower fizz which visually looked lovely and refreshed the taste buds.
Gosh Vegan Sausages Review: October 2017
Boom Brilliant Bangers by Gosh arrived at blogging HQ ready for the taste test. Gosh is all about goodness, they are dairy free, gluten free, soya free, nut free and are suitable for vegans too. Impressively, they are naturally free from the UK’s 14 top listed allergens; cereals containing gluten, eggs, milk, soya, nuts, peanuts, celery, mustard, sesame seeds, lupin, Sulphur dioxide, crustaceans, fish & molluscs.
Tideford Organics Soups Review: September 2017
Since 1996 in their Devon Kitchen, Tideford Organics have been creating an innovative range of scrummy soup recipes. Excitingly re-launching in 2016, as the UKs first organic vegan brand, crafting and creating soups that are gluten free, low fat, organic, vegan and with no added sugars. The Tideford Team sent me some super soups in celebration of Organic September. I was excited to review, not just for the obvious taste testing reason, but due to the brands commitment and dedication to support the wellbeing of our environment.
The brands core ethos is that, “a little change can make a big difference” which underpins their ‘Take the Pledge to Eat More Veg’ campaign. Eating less meat improves health and helps our environments health too. The statistics are eyewatering, “The meat + dairy industries use a third of our planet’s fresh water supply” “Animal agriculture is responsible for 91% of amazon destruction”, “51% of global greenhouse emissions are due to livestock + their by-products”, “A plant-based diet cuts your carbon footprint by 50%”, “If everyone had one meat-free day a week it’d be like taking 240 million cars off the road”, “If you skip just one burger you’ll have saved enough energy to charge your iPhone for 4.5 years!”
