An exciting, electric and engaging experience in the centre of York, escape room brand “Can You Escape?” provide you the opportunity to become a super hero legend in their new game Operation Hero.

The Force Four superheroes, Torus, Oculo, Hermes and Badger, have been stripped of their superpowers and it is up to you to stop the evil baddy Mobius taking over York city centre.

Our game master James the Flush prepared us for battle to use our skill, strength of mind and inner super hero powers to complete our mission, save force four and grab our slice of victory.

Team name decided; Fire Foxes, and my personal superhero name chosen; Forkward Fire Flame, it was time to don the superhero cape and mask and prepare for a battle like no other.  Without giving too much away, this high tech filled room had gadgets and games galore to get your heart and mind pumping.

A truly unique, exhilarating and immersive “must do” experience right in the heart of York City. Are you a Superhero and Can You Escape?

Escape the hustle & bustle and lavish in some lovely lunchies Italian style at Carluccio’s which was once home to the iconic Terrys chocolate shop.

Interiors mix traditional and contemporary styles, with lovely romantic seating with views across St Helens square, to people watch, soak up the ambience and atmosphere. Combined with the fabulous food offerings, you can grab your own slice of the dolce vita lifestyle.

Our fabulous foodie feast, came in three courses, with a range of amazing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinkies to wash it all down.

Super starters included the Insalata Caprese dish with brilliant buffalo mozzarella, sliced beef tomatoes, basil, lashings of extra virgin olive oil and black olives.  Off the specials opting for the beetroot and ricotta tortellini served in a creamy goat’s cheese sauce, topped with crushed walnuts.  Washed down with the refreshing non-alcoholic Crodino – light, but with a bite, ideal served with ice and a slice.

The bright lights of York led me to brilliant Bill’s which offers a delicious and delightful dining experience with genuine and authentic service, home cooked food, and smiles are plentiful.

The place oozes charm with the rustic and shabby chic interiors such as candelabras and chandeliers, that are eclectically, but tastefully mixed to create a homely relaxed feel.  The marvellous mocktails along with sensational seasonal dishes makes for a perfect dinner with friends, family or loved ones.

Warmly welcomed by Chris, then energetic Emma our server made her introductions, along with the delightful Adam, a member of the management team, this trio made our visit to York Bills extra special.  They devoted time to their customers and delivered genuine service with a passionate and fun flare.
