A Fabulous Festive Foodie Stay, with Peter Street Kitchen, at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester – Review
Celebrate in style this Christmas, with the Radisson Blu Edwardian, at their super 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of Manchester city centre.
Situated inside the historic Free Trade Hall, the hotel is steeped in historic charm and elegance, as one of the city’s most iconic buildings.
The reception area boasts a beautiful crystal chandelier, as its signature centrepiece. Along with the Christmas tree, sophisticatedly decorated, providing that home away from home feel.
Since the extensive refit, the interiors now have a fantastic and fabulous fresh look.
Clean, contemporary lines with amazing artwork, lighting, planting and subtle subdue shades, creates a relaxed and refreshed vibe.
After a seamless check in, we headed up to our room and prepared to completely chill out for the weekend.
The double bed was cosy and snug and provided a plentiful space to get lot’s of the Zzz’s in before a busy day the following morning. A chic contemporary space with some local artwork and gorgeous glass light fittings.
The beautiful bathroom splits into two, first an area with wardrobe, vanity mirror, magnifying mirror, sink, storage space along with all the other must haves to pamper and beautify. Then the second area with bath tub, toilet and full stand up shower wet area along with REN toiletries.
The main living area including a workable desk along with bottled water, tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely card and cake welcome gift.
For a perfect piece of Paradise head to the hotel’s in-house Peter Street Kitchen restaurant and bar for a taste of contemporary Japanese and Mexican foodie delights. The concept being small plates and sharing in a relaxed environment.
After a multi-million-pound investment, the Radisson Blu Edwardian restaurant, has introduced Peter Street Kitchen, a super smart space with elegance and style. The new venture from Amir Jati, who has vast experience within the industry, over 22 years to be precise, and clocking up over 10 years at Nobu!
Incorporating Japanese décor throughout the bar and restaurant with the brilliant Bonsai tree addition, providing a beautiful bespoke finish. The DJ played a fab set of tracks which for me created an amazing atmosphere. The Japanese theme works in conjunction with the Mexican theme, with the circular shape of the restaurant allegedly taking inspiration from the Mexican eye.
Chatting with management and staff, on the evening, it was clear that a huge investment had also been made in the staff training and development. I could easily reem off the names of star servers on the evening, but the fact remains, every single member of the team, without fail performed to perfection.
The mouth-watering Mexican dishes, included homemade nachos with their signature guacamole, Chilli lime veggie chicken soft tacos and the Robata mezcal-glazed smoked paprika ribs, gave a hot spicy start to the evening.
Japanese selections started with the amazing Avocado tartare with shichimi soy, a clean sophisticated dish with style and substance. The Charred asparagus with ibuki rice, shichimi broth and garlic roasted kale served in a claypot and the sensational snow crab dish with creamy spicy mayo was an instant hit.
Continuing with the Japanese sharers, the Flatbreads with roasted aubergine with rocoto chilli and wasabi sour cream had a kick and tasted delicious. One of my favs was the veggie chicken tempura with creamy spicy mayo and chilli ponzu. Also, the mushroom with truffle toban-yaki was stunning. All had complex flavour combinations which delicately worked together to create exquisite palate flavourings.
Divine, delight desserts included the delicious Chocolate bento box with genmaicha ice cream, Kuro goma cheesecake with orange sorbet and the Raspberry parfait with shiso ginger ice cream and berry compote, all woofed down in record time.
Delightful drink offerings include a range of Japanese and Mexican beers, Japanese tea and the most amazing non-alcoholic cocktails including the gorgeous Garden Margarita, made with Seedlip Garden, apple, lime, agave and salt – an absolute personal fav of mine, mixed to perfection.
The best part about staying at the hotel is knowing that in the morning we got the chance to re-visit the Peter Street restaurant, but this time for breakfast.
The range of bountiful and beautiful buffet breakfast offerings was amazing. Pastries such as Pain au chocolat and butter croissant served warm with homemade orange preserve.
Cold Selections consisted of Homemade breads, seeds and berries, seasonal fresh fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, muesli, flavoured yoghurts and freshly squeezed juices.
An impressive hot buffet selection of scrambled eggs, smoked streaky bacon, Cumberland sausage, baked beans, grilled mushrooms, hash browns and roasted vine cherry tomatoes.

Not got time to stop by Peter Street Kitchen, no problem, the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester have you covered. Breakfast on the go, included these wonderful wooden service trolleys in reception providing on the go guests, with pastries, apples, bottled water, tea making facilities and cereal bars, ensuring no one leaves with an empty tummy.
The Radissons extensive refurbishment has clearly been a super success, offering plush accommodations, in an iconic contemporary space along with the personality and pizazz of Peter Street Kitchen, what’s not to like.
Thank you for reading 😊
