Christmas Celebrations at Novotel York Centre #Review

Christmas Celebrations at Novotel York Centre Review: February 2020 #Gifted

Novotel York Centre is the perfect place for family and friends to celebrate Christmas in style.  Also, with Valentines Day fast approaching, Novotel York Centre would make a perfect Valentines retreat for yourself and a loved one.

Recently, the hotel has carried out extensive quality refurbishment to the property providing guests with an even more fabulous experience.

Their reception area even has super sweetie shop style displays which is a very cool addition.

The newly renovated Junior Suite really is something else, a spacious open plan contemporary family hub to kick back and relax in as you plan all your amazing York adventures.

With a queen bed, desk, tea tray, iron, minibar with complimentary bottled water, Nespresso coffee machine, safe and hairdryer, you really do have all the modern conveniences.

There are two huge flat-screen televisions for viewing both in the bedroom and lounge.  Along with complimentary Wi-Fi access.

A warm welcome in the form of a sweet platter and a beautiful card with an illustration of York – the perfect keepsake and memory.

The bathroom is super large includes double sinks, vanity mirrors, separate stand up shower unit and complimentary toiletries.

Additionally, the deep soak bath is perfect to chill out, soak up some bubbles and relax in.

After checking in why not head back down to reception and chill out in their lovely lounge.  Decor a mixture on industrial and retro chic, the perfect place to play, picture or people watch.

Christmas decorations, including the tree complemented the existing detail and York artwork.

Head to the Gourmet bar for a warming drink or perhaps a glass of fizz or two.  The range of drinks on offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic is brilliant.

Fancy fabulous food well stay on and enjoy the gorgeous Gourmet restaurant.  Connor our server was just as warm and pleasant as our last visit, he is a natural and makes customer service look easy!

My dinner dietaries were really fabulously handled by the lovely Kai and his team which made for a lovely relaxed evening.  Super scrummy starters included a butternut squash salad which was Amaze and these super cheesy meatballs.

Mains included a massive steak with chips and all the extras such as peppercorn sauce and the chef kindly made me a vegan style roast dinner which was not only majorly appreciated but enjoyed enormously.

Dessert included ice cream, warm chocolate brownie all washed down with some peppermint tea.

Our suite overlooked the idyllic banks of the river Foss, so it was lovely to relax and reflect while enjoying the in-room tea tray.

Head for an early morning dip in the onsite, 40 metres square, swimming pool which features a marvellous mural of sea life to encourage the kids to take a swim.

Breakfast buffet style is available during your stay which you have the option of continental such as pastries, fruit and cereals.

Also, there are hot options which provide guests with a full English breakfast.

All served in the relaxed surroundings of the gorgeous Gourmet bar and restaurant.

Recent renovations at the Novotel York Centre have created a lovely place for family and friends to stay, while exploring York, with a home away from home vibe.

  2. The hotel looks great. Very rustic yet modern as if it were built for the holidays. I miss Christmas already. I cannot believe how fast Christmas was. It just came and went in a blink of an idea. Great blog post.

  3. I’ve never stayed anywhere for Christmas, but my husband and I have talked about doing it at some point. This place looks fabulous, especially with those desserts and the great pool and that view!

  4. I had always thought of Novotel hotels as something slightly better than a Travelodge. It seems I couldn’t be more wrong. It sounds like a wonderful place and the food looks divine.

  5. Nice pick for a place to stay! Novotel hotels always offer a great experience. I know it because my son used to work as a hotel staff in a Novotel branch.
