Be At One Manchester Review: March 2017

Roll back to the 90’s when Steve, Leigh and Rhys met while working together in the West End of London. Bravely going for broke, they left their jobs, got several loans and bought a run down Indian restaurant on Battersea Rise. Seven weeks later and after a serious refurb the Be At One cocktail bar was born.

Successful openings across the UK has meant that the bar has expanded from its southern roots and decided to settle some roots up north in several locations, one being in the heart of Manchester City centre.  Situated in Barton Square, the entrance has cool neon lit signage that lead us down the glam spiral stair case.

Greeted by the lovely Katie, who introduced us to the menu, as we got cosy and ready for the Cocktail craziness to commence. The lovely lip-smacking candy pants, mixed up with Absolut Kurant Vodka, Chambord, strawberry purée, fresh lemon juice, cranberry juice all topped off with crushed ice and a slice. The brill Blueberry muffin was mouth-wateringly tasty, shaken up with Absolut Vanilia, gingerbread syrup, cranberry juice, lemon juice and blueberry jam. This one was a real sweet treat. Finally, created for the killing Monica book launch, by sex and the city creator Candace Bushnell, the Killing Monica cocktail stirred up with Absolut Elyx, rhubarb syrup, fresh lemon juice, rhubarb bitters and rosé Champagne had a sharp, but pleasant tangy taste.  Finally, the Pornstar Martinis were Perfection in a glass.

Katie and the team provided excellent service, creating cocktails that were consistent in terms of quality even though the bar was constantly busy. Be At One, you will definitely be seeing me again soon.

Thank you for reading 😊

  1. This place sounds like fun! I just know Killing Monica would give me crazy acid but I need to try it 😀 Might have to take a day trip to Manchester soon!
